Tammy Plotkin-Oren, CFP®, ChFC®, MBA

Principal and Financial Adviser

Bringing her clients peace of mind and taking the burden of financial planning off their shoulders is what makes Tammy so passionate about her work. In her financial planning work, Tammy puts her client's best interests first and uses her expansive background and approachable, understanding character to get to know her clients on a personal level so she can help them make the choices that fit for what they desire.

Tammy founded TPO Financial & Insurance Services in 2005 to make a real impact on the lives of fellow business owners, professionals and their families.  As a Certified Financial Planner™ in Berkeley, California, Tammy assists her clients with financial planning, insurance planning, investment planning, and retirement preparation. With a strong ability to focus on the big picture, Tammy creates comprehensive plans for each individual while demonstrating her genuine care for their financial future.

These attributes, along with Tammy’s passion and expertise, have earned her the honor of qualifying for the Million Dollar Round Table*, including Top of the Table and New York Life Chairman’s Council in 2020 and six consecutive years prior.

Originally from Texas, Tammy lived abroad in France and Israel before making the San Francisco Bay Area her home. Tammy and her husband Arnon have three daughters: Ella, Dahlia and Nava and reside in the East Bay Hills. When she is not at work, Tammy loves to spend time with her family and her dog Mika, travel, hike, play mahjong with good friends, and enjoy the beauty of the Bay Area.

Christine Cabras

Licensed Insurance Agent

Christine joined TPO Financial in 2019 and works with our clients on their life insurance planning. Known for her personalized approach, she provides sensitivity to each person’s unique situation and set of experiences. Specializing in personal and business life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care insurance and fixed annuity products, she believes everyone deserves the long-term security and peace of mind that planning brings to hard-working individuals and their families.

Christine is a Licensed Insurance Agent with more than 5 years of experience. She is one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s fastest rising professionals in Life Insurance Planning – with the distinction of qualifying for New York Life Executive Council and the Million Dollar Round table in 2020, her very first year in the life insurance business.

Very involved and active in the Filipino Community in the San Francisco Bay Area, Christine is passionate about connecting small business owners and forming networks of professionals, mentoring teenagers and supporting women’s shelters. She has become the life insurance “go to” professional in her community.

Outside the office, Christine pursues a rich spiritual life, and enjoys powerlifting, hiking, reading and spending time with her two children and three dogs.

Kathleen Emerling

Director of Operations

With over 20 years of operational and client relationship experience in the financial services and insurance industry, Kathleen joined TPO Financial in 2020 to help support all facets of the organization.  With a track record of success, Kathleen wears many hats at TPO Financial, from serving clients to helping team members to improving our services and processes.  Her primary mission:  to keep everything running smoothly!

Kathleen has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a Minor Degree in Italian from San Diego State University.  She also holds Securities Licenses 7 and 66 and a California Life & Health License and is a member of the Golden Gate Business Association.

A native Californian, Kathleen currently resides in San Francisco with her son and partner.  In her free time, Kathleen enjoys cycling, swimming in the Bay, painting and spending time with her family.

Karen Hill

Licensed Service Assistant

If you’ve called our office, you have probably spoken with Karen. She assists our clients, schedules appointments, and helps with servicing our insurance and financial products. Karen finds true fulfillment in her work from the interaction she gets to have with the company’s clients. Karen has been with the company for over 5 years and in the financial services industry for over 25 years. In her free time she loves to spend time with family, bowl with friends, attend Warriors and A’s sporting events, and travel.

Ariona Ellis

Client Service Assistant

With over 10 years of administrative and client relationship experience in the financial services and insurance industry, Ariona joined TPO Financial in 2021 to support all facets of the company, performing a variety of duties. Ariona is passionate about excellent customer service and enjoys helping our clients with their service needs.

Living in Washington State, Ariona joins our team remotely. Her excellent skills in technology helps keep our office running smoothly, and efficiently.

In her free time, Ariona enjoys hiking, traveling, painting and spending time with her family and friends.
